Quick Start Tutorial

Get started with PonicsPal in 4 simple steps !

Start by adding a new reservoir, and then simply follow the QST Step by Step Process PonicsPal provides to get your hydroponics system, reservoir, and plants online in seconds!

  1. Add A Reservoir
  2. Add A System
  3. Add A Group For New Plants
  4. Add Your Plants

Step 1: Add A Reservoir

Add a reservoir to supply your systems by clicking Reservoirs in the left sidebar and then clicking the Add New Reservoir Link in the top right corner of the All Reservoirs Table . You will then be directed to the Add New Reservoir Form.

Input the following details into the Add New Reservoir Form to create a new reservoir:

  1. Name: The name for the new reservoir.
  2. pH: The target pH level for the new reservoir.
  3. Flush Freq: Input how often you flush this reservoir, in days.
  4. Prev Flush: Input the date of the last flush or the present date.
  5. Click the Add New Reservoir button to add the new reservoir.
  6. Click the link to Step 2 of the QST Step by Step Process in the red notification window.

Step 2: Add A System

Add a new home for your plants by clicking Systems in the left sidebar and then clicking the Add New System Link in the top right corner of the All Systems Table .. You will then be directed to the Add New System Form .

Input the following details into the Add New System Form to create a new system:

  1. System Name: The name for the new system.
  2. Source Reservoir: Select the new reservoir we set up in step 1 to add it as the source reservoir for the new system.
  3. Max Plant Count: Input the maximum amount of plants spaces available for use on the system.
  4. Click the Add New System button to add the new system.
  5. Click the link to Step 3 of the QST Step by Step Process in the red notification window.

Step 3: Add A Group For New Plants

group-shot Plants Groups helps the user to organize their crop while also providing the ability to edit all the plants in the group at the same time. Add a new Plant Group by clicking Plant Groups in the left side bar and then clicking the Add New Group Link in the top right corner of the All Groups Table . You will then be directed to the Add New Group Form.

Input the following details into the Add New Group Form. to create a new group:

  1. Group Name: Enter the name of the new plant group.
  2. Home System: Enter the default home system for the new plant group.
  3. Click the Add New Group button to add the new plant group.
  4. Click the link to Step 4 of the QST Step by Step Process in the red notification window.

Step 4: Add Your Plants

Add the plants to your system by clicking Plants in the left side bar and then clicking the Add New Plants Link in the top right corner of the All Plants Table . You will then be directed to the Add New Plant(s) Form.

Input the following details into the Add New Plant(s) Form. to create a new plant(s):

  1. Number of Plants: Enter the total number of new plants you want to add.
  2. Plant Name: Enter the name for your new plant(s)
  3. Plant Group: Select the plant group you wish to add the new plant(s) to. Note: Plants Groups helps the user to organize their crop while also providing the ability to edit all the plants in the group at the same time.
  4. Home System: Select the home system for the new plants. Note: Leave blank for germinating plants that haven’t been planted.
  5. Species: Enter the species of the new plant(s)
  6. Germinated: Enter the date the plant(s) were germinated.
  7. Planted: Enter the date the plant(s) were/will be planted in a system.
  8. Harvest: Enter the date the plant(s) are projected to be harvested.
  9. Click the Add New Plant(s) button to add the new plant(s).
